As part of attending Alabama’s Team Nutrition Training Grant: “Beyond the Serving Line Training Academy”, each district is required to have an open house event to showcase their Child Nutrition Program! Roanoke City Schools had a “Taco Tuesday” inspired event. They served peach salsa, Mexican-inspired pulled pork, Mexicali corn, and orange slices with Tajin seasoning for their students and parents to taste test! These were all recipes from the Team Nutrition training

Vincent Middle School Child Nutrition News
Vincent Middle High School Child Nutrition Program of Shelby County Schools held their Team Nutrition Open House event in conjunction with their school’s first home baseball game. Manager Amy Theabolt planned the event, and other managers from the district served at the different stations. The event featured favorite recipes from the Team Nutrition Training as well as student favorites! At each station, students and parents were able to give feedback on each food item.
Marshal County Child Nutrition News
Marshall County Schools Child Nutrition Program presented recipes from the Team Nutrition Training Grant along with other favorite student foods to board members, parents, and students. This event was held in conjunction with the board meeting and National School Breakfast Week. Child Nutrition Program staff demonstrated making Pico de Gallo from the training, which they proudly serve at all of their schools each Thursday!
